Cat Breeds Recognised by GCCF

There are photos of some of the breeds (opening in new windows).

Most are from the Supreme Cat Show web site where you can read more about these Best of Variety and Supreme winners. The photos of the new breeds (which have not had the opportunity to win Best of Variety) have been supplied by their clubs.

If you are thinking about buying a kitten for breeding or showing, please read the registration policy first.

Although the total number of cats registered does not vary a great deal from year to year, different breeds rise or fall in popularity.

The following publications are available from the GCCF Office

  • GCCF Guide to Breed Numbers: including an explanation of the numbers used to define the different colours and patterns

  • Standard of Points: booklet with Standards of Points for all GCCF breeds
